he famous auction house Bonhams again held their massive dog art auction timed to coincide with Westminster. And, yet again, the auction offered a number of lovely Clumber Spaniel Pieces. This year paintings by Hyland and Wardle were auctioned and sold, while the lovely pencil of the American resident Ch Oakerland Rolfe was passed.
While the paintings of the Clumbers are probably out of most readers league, a review of the prices realized shows that some breeders were lucky and could pick up lovely artwork of their breed from about US$500-. The catalogues are now posted online, but you can also subscribe to the printed catalogue which features most lots in colour on glossy paper – absentee bidding is always welcomed.
