| Before 1850 Game Keepers in Britain, wore top hats. Top hats were very tall (often cumbersome) and were a wonderful way of displaying their profession and it became a sign of authority. It was their way of saying I am a gamekeeper. Big estates had many gamekeeper and under-game keepers. | |

| Friday afternoon people from all over Scandinavia started to arrive, it is always very good to meet all Clumber enthusiasts again. The evening we started as we always do, with our BBQ but this year we had to cancel our obedience competition as we just had one participant. But the retrieving competition, Cocos Cup, was held, ten Clumbers started and there were ten different styles in retrieving�..An item, this year a roedeer hoof, shall be retrieved against the clock, the variation in times was as big as it was in style, from 14 seconds to over a minute! | |

| The month of June (2008) has to have been one of the worst months for Rescue for years. The Worcester five were handed into the care of Rescue in the first week of the month and then our hard work started. You may recall from my last report that one young bitch had been re-homed by a Council backed kennel when the statutory 7 days were up. Leaving us with 3 bitches and 2 dogs. | |
