NO MORE COLLARS! by Sarah Sobry

I always keep collars on my dogs. It makes it easier to grab them, throw a leash on them when we are off to dog class and I know they always have ID on them should they jump the fence and get lost. Our fence in the front yard is only three feet high, a regulation height where I live, and our dogs, a Border Collie named Jenny (2 1/2 years old) and a Belgian Tervuren named Tasha (8 months old), are tall enough to jump the fence if they so choose.

TANGLE FREE by Cheryl LeCourt

Understand that the blow dryer has to blow in the direction that the coat grows - in other words, away from the skin so the dryer has to be pointed away from the skin towards the end tips of the coat. It's the same with people hair. Blow it in the correct direction and no more fuzz and tangle.

HEARTS by Anita Roberts

The onset of heart disease in dogs is usually gradual and not likely to give rise to sudden death. The conditions leading to heart failure may develop slowly and in some cases have been present from birth. More often than not there are plenty of warnings to indicate that something is wrong, so we usually get plenty of time to do something about

EPILEPSY HARD TO DEFINE EPILEPSY 20 EPILEPSY by Elezabeth Peters

EPILEPSY is caused by abnormal and repetitive electrical activity in the brain neurons. It is more than just convulsions, and seizures may be caused by a number of different factors. Thus it is difficult to diagnose and manage without lengthy and expensive evaluation of the canine sufferer.

OLD FARTS & FEATHER FETCHERS 15 by Patrick Fraser

In the world of the West Coast Clumber crowd October is the time of year to go hunting for real. The Hunt Tests are over. All the highs and lows have been experienced, Hunt Test titles achieved or relegated to "Wait till Next Year".

PRINCIPLES OF BREEDING by Will Judy

There is enormous need of the study of scientific breeding in dogs. For generations, the production of good specimens and winning specimens at dog shows has been a matter of accident rather than of foreplanning.

BEST JUNIORS by Kellyn Miller

About five years ago my family lost a Basset Hound that had been with us all my life. My dad vowed never ever are we getting another dog and to top it off my mother agreed. For a teenager who wants a dog more than anything this really was not good. I spent four years researching all different breeds, I started in toy, trying to find one that my parents would say okay to.

GROOMING TIPS by Cathy Brennan

When presenting a Clumber for exhibition it is most important to remember that although the breed is relatively untouched by scissors, it needs just as much care and preparation as any other variety of spaniel.

A DREAM COMES TRUE

This is a two part epic, the first being told by Windsor's breeder Moira Simmonds of Canada... It is hard to imagine that Windsor was actually conceived years ago. In 1999 after what I considered a huge disappointment of not getting the Clumber

CHAMPIONSHIP CLUB MATCH 6T JULY 2002 John and I had a wonderful weekend with the show as the highlight. Our Dutch hosts made us so welcome and explained all that I had to do - giving reports on each individual dog, which were then handed to the exhibitors. This was a bit nerve-racking, as you can imagine however I tried to give my opinion of each dog in such a way that my placings were plain to the exhibitors. I hope that I succeeded!
